Phi Beta Kappa is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Norman G. Pauling Research Fellowship for Early Career Scholars! The application deadline is May 15. You can find more information HERE.

Four $20,000 awards will support outstanding scholars whose work demonstrates the value of an arts and sciences education to individuals as well as local, national, and global communities. You will find eligibility requirements and application submission guidelines in the application package linked below. Projects should explore one or more of the following:=

  • Connections between the liberal arts and sciences and a vibrant democracy
  • Illustrations of how the liberal arts and sciences contribute to the public good
  • Importance of integrating multiple perspectives to addressing intractable challenges
  • Examination of the Society’s impact and its roles in U.S. history and culture
